Guest guest
Hi Kate! Im glad the Tysabri infusion went well. Is it normal for your b/p to drop like that during the infusion? 22lbs. Wow! Not a good way to lose though. Poor thing. I really feel for you. Are you getting enough nutrients and vitamin in what your eating? What about ensure or something? Think that would bother you? My gma dosnt eat much but drinks the ensure and it helps her alot. Im sorry about your mom. I have been praying for her and your dad and of course you and your fam. I know it is scary and especially with hospice coming. They will help alot Kate. I have heard so much good stuff about hospice and it is great they will help your dad too after your mom passes. They will help so much, especially with her pain. Hang in there k. luv ya! cassy Monday Had my Tysabri infusion today, it went well. My BP did go down to 99/52, but they didn't seem overly concerned. Unfortunately, the colitis or Crohns whatever it may be is still with me, so I'm down about 22 lbs now. Good way to launch my new weight loss program! 22 down, 30 to go. My mom is NOT doing well; we've been told she has 3 months to live. Fortunately, my mom is being wise and allowing hospice to be called in to help her and my dad even in the assisted living situation. From what I understand, after my mom's passing, they will attend to my dad for a period of about 13 months. It is so hard to be writing this, and yet I feel numb right now in terms of her leaving earth. Hope everyone is having a good Monday after Super Sunday. love, Kate #AOLMsgPart_2_f203a9fa-411a-427d-803a-5f74517c9362 #AOLMsgPart_2_f203a9fa-411a-427d-803a-5f74517c9362 #AOLMsgPart_2_f203a9fa-411a-427d-803a-5f74517c9362 ________________________________________________________________________ More new features than ever. It is hard to say if this continuing diarrhea and wt. loss may be some sort of empathy, and/or stress related to my mom. Hard to say. I just have no appetite at all, which is completely unlike me. Guest guest
I guess it's a good thing not having appetite when one can't eat - better than being desperately hungry anyway... I suppose it will do that to you. I once had a crack in my jaw-bone, and consequently had to live on mashed potatoes and soup etc. Would be a real pest normally, but when eating is that painful (even the very small movements necessary to open and close the mouth was like getting a blow on the face...) and that much work, it just loses its attraction real fast, doesn't it?...Anyway. I've been reading all your posts about how things are going in your life, and wanted to let you know thought are coming your way from Sweden.Keep hanging in there!love/Reb>> I just adore speaking to you on the phone, Cassy. Guest guest
Absolutely, Reb. How are you and faring? I am happy to have lost the weight, now to keep it off, and lose even more! Hopefully in a healthier way! I have a consult with a nutritionist for next wk. I am looking forward to someone guiding me with proper food and nutrition to help me be stronger. My goal is to get down to about 135 lbs, and build my muscle. That crack in your jawbone sounds horrific~! Trig. neuralgia can trigger stuff like that too, with chewing. How is your weather there? It is not much of a winter here. love to you and , Kate Monday> > Had my Tysabri infusion today, it went well. My BP did go down to > 99/52, but> > they> > didn't seem overly concerned. Guest guest
Hospice here is sort of an outreach program for terminally ill people, and those close to the end of their lives. It is for both my mom, who is ill, but as a support for me dad too, as he has advancing Alzheimers. Guest guest
We're doing ok. had a bad case of the flu-like side effects from Rebif one night this week and ended up staying home from work to rest the day after. That happens some times. Unfortunately, this time, it was the day I had arranged to have her surprise gift for our anniversary on Monday (the anniversary of our getting together for the first time, not the wedding, we celebrate all our anniversaries, you can't get too many of them...) delivered, because I expected to have time to hide it after i got home and before she got home. So she ended up getting a surprise gift when she was home sick instead. Ah, well it could be worse... And what she don't know is, I have one more gift for her, so she'll still get a surprise on Monday morning, together with breakfast in bed with a double espresso with milk (her special), and triple chocolate cookies and some Valentine candy (it's a good thing celebrating an anniversary so close to Valentine's Day...). So, all in all, I think it'll be an ok anniversary, even with one surprise spoiled... Have to go gift wrap now, before she gets home for the weekend...love/Reb> >> > I just adore speaking to you on the phone, Cassy. You are a gem! Thank you for your words. Guest guest
Hey, I think that Reb and are each fortunate to have found one another. Every single morning of my life with Hans, he got up, made coffee, brought it to me, made breakfast and did every thing he could as he knew that mornings were not my time of day, and he was charged up in the morning. O. K., do not take that one too literally. . . Guest guest
Nothing big. She's a fan of comics (not all, but some), and especially adores one book by the American Art Spiegelman that she has, it's called "Maus I & II" and is about Art's dad and his experiences during the Holocaust. So when I saw that Spiegelman had made (writted/painted, what do you call it?) another one, this one about, I think, New York after 9-11 (or could be it's about all of US, I don't know, because I haven't read it), and was also certain that she didn't know it existed (because she would have mentioned it), I just thought it'd be a perfect surprise for her: something I knew she'd love but that she didn't even know to wish for, so I ordered it. I said "nothing big". Well, it does almost cover our sideboard in the living room, so perhaps that isn't literally true... But at least, nothing expensive. It's the thought that counts. It'll be 14 years on Monday - sometimes it seems like we've been together since the beginning of time, and sometimes like we've just met. But if you count the years, it's 14.love/Reb> > >> > > I just adore speaking to you on the phone, Cassy. You are a gem! Thank you for your words.
