Guest guest
It is snowing to beat the band here (where, exactly, did that saying originate, anyway? Why would I want to beat the band? And it is a physical beating or a competitive one, anyway?) How 'bout y'all? Guest guest
We were having some wind and rain in the Bay Area. Thursday it rained fairly heavy (if I have my days right). Yesterday we had some spots of rain but it was clear in the evening. But, with clear skies came some chilling temperatures! 45 degrees in San Francisco is colder than 30 degrees in Chicago, I say. Sunday morning I was up at 4:30 to volunteer at a homeless shelter. Several of us made and served breakfast to 41 men. Nothing helps one to forget one's own troubles like helping out others. Sunday evening I attended the final night of the Noir City film festival in San Francisco. For the event I dressed in my double-breasted suit and fedora. And, I put on makeup to look like I'd been in a fight. (photo below) However, there are days I feel as battered and bruised as I look in the photo. --Mr. Dana F.
