A friend has diverticulitis

A dear friend just got out of the hospital diagnosed with

diverticulitis. They want to operate and take part of her colon out

next month due to an absess (sp). I told her about Elaine's book and

she is going to get a copy but in the mean time, are there things that

can help heal the absess - I guess it is sealing itself up, which is

bad???

Has anyone here had this and gotten help from SCD? I welcome any

thoughts.
