Guest guest
Ken and All: Gout, which I suffer from, is a form of arthritis and I can tell you that if I am unable to " catch " it early enough and fend it's severe effects off, I will suffer with it from two to three weeks. Case in point; I traveled during the recent Christmas holidays. Christmas morning I woke up with it in my right elbow. Over the following 15 days it migrated from my elbow joint down into my wrist where it remains today even though the pain is lessening with the medications. This is not uncommon. When I first started getting gout attacks after I turned 50, they would often stay around one of my big toe joints. In the past 10 years I have had them in my knees, finger joints including the thumbs and deep inside one or the other foot. It has not been uncommon at all for them to start in one place and " move " to another joint nearby. In the case of gout, I'm told it's the uric acid crystals which my body is unable is eliminate on it's own so it would seem logical that since they develop in the blood stream, they could be carried by the blood to other parts of the body.Keavan >Ken wrote: Is there anyone here who experiences the following: what about arthritis pain which " circulates " from one area of the body to another. one day, several days, a week, the ankles hurt (subtalar joint arthritis) but other areas are mild or non painful, then one day, the knees hurt bad, but the ankles are mild to non painful. Guest guest
Dear Ken: I also have 'circulating' arthrtitis pain. Somedays my shoulders will hurt, then other days my ankles. Somedays I'll have 'dead' left arm from my shoulder going out and somedays 'dead' right arm for the same reason. I think part of it is that I just strain things every day doing different things. I'll have days where I can't close my hands or grab on to anything. I have some arthritis pain that hurts the same every day (destroyed left knee and right hip and thoracic spine) but the other pains are all over the place each day. Yesterday I had to carry a gallon of milk into the house from the car. Now today I can barely move my right shoulder. That kind of thing. It really is frustrating. I always refer to it as just another movement in the symphony of pain that is my life. Sometimes it's pianissimo and other days furioso. - PA >Ken wrote: Is there anyone here who experiences the following: what about arthritis pain which " circulates " from one area of the body to another. one day, several days, a week, the ankles hurt (subtalar joint arthritis) but other areas are mild or non painful, then one day, the knees hurt bad, but the ankles are mild to non painful. Guest guest
Dear Ones, I also have I also have 'circulating' pain. It is called Fibromyalgia. This along with the other syndromes I have cause different pains in different areas. Some days it may start in my shoulders and back then go to my hips ,knees, ankles, wrists, thumbs, elbows and collarbone. I have " floating " pain. It makes it's way around my whole body and there are parts that are in constant pain, like my hips back and feet. I have diabetic neuropathy. I also have what I call razor pain That is when anything touching my skin feels like razors cutting in. I have arthritis in my tail bone, ankles, and wrists. It is starting in my hips now. That is what the x-rays say. As far as the 'circulating' arthritis pain goes My doc called it Fibromyalgia because it not only floats but it has certain points on your body called trigger points and tender points. There are 20 of the tender points. I have all 20 plus the 18 trigger points. All you need to be disabled by social security is 11. My body has turned against me as I got older. My mother has fibromyalgia and my sister on my fathers side also has fibromyalgia. So I got it from both sides. Plus my pregnancies caused another pain syndrome I can never remember that name. All I know is I have many things wrong with my body and i take a lot of pills to counteract the pain and other problems I have. Gentle hugs, Ms.Katurah
