Guest guest
[The_Wolfs_Lodge] 6 or 7 more big storms Six, Seven, or Eight More Storms on the Way Tuesday, February 05, 2008 Counting the storm moving through the Pacific Northwest at the current time, it appears as if there will be at least six more storms -- and perhaps as many as eight or nine -- headed for the West Coast during the next couple of weeks. After the storm that brought rain to the Southern California over the weekend and the Desert Southwest on Monday (by the way, this is the storm that has the potential to produce a serious tornado outbreak from Arkansas to Tennessee today into tonight), the storm track has started to shift farther to the north once again. And the bulk of the storminess over the next couple of weeks will be aimed at the Pacific Northwest. While the current storm is intense, and the next storm (from later Wednesday into Thursday) will be fairly intense, it's too early for me to know with certainty how intense the individual storms will be. At this point, it appears that precipitation from Friday through at least Monday will not be very heavy; storms through the remainder of next week might pack more of a punch. We can focus on those details later; however, there will certainly be more in the way of rain and mountain snow in the Pacific Northwest, which will continue to cause some travel problems into the mountains and the threat of avalanches due to the heavy snow pack.
