Dearest Kate, thank you so very much. I love

Valentine's Day, as it was the day that my husband

proposed to me (by phone, long distance). I accepted,

and he sent a charming post-card with a nude from some

Renaissance painting on it. The whole neighborhood just

had to tease me for weeks. It was not like Hans (now

deceased) to have sent it in an envelope! Then he sent

me a line from a play of Shakespeare's (this, thank heavens,

in an envelope), " Have faith, my Queen; there is sap in it yet! "

Sooooo, I loved your card, though of Hans and of you,

You are sweet, Nukhet! Thanks! Hey, you know what

was the first food I had that made me start feeling better?

Turkish pita and Greek yoghourt with grains, pears and

no sugar added to it! Soothed my belly fine!

There is an awesome Turkish market in the next town

up from me, called, Zetina market; the people are so

kind and amazing chefs as well. They make daily their

own yogurts as well.
