Guest guest
Most of your posts suggest UAE or abdominal myo or vaginal if possible but isn't UAE appropriate for women who severely bleed ? I was diagnosed with a 5.8 cm fibroid - posterior - no pain, no cramps,no heavy bleeding, no back aches. I attribute this mostly to working out at least 4x a week (at times 2 hours a day), yoga and pilates. I have also changed my diet, increased my veggie and fruit intake - less meat and more fish. HOwever, I feel that I my abdominal area is starting to show more and more - perhaps due to the fibroid ? MY main concern is the size of my fibroid - should I still take the " wait and see " attitude ? I feel that UAE is not appropriate for my condition because I am not a heavy bleeder. It seems that abdominal myo is my only choice - but my doctor said we should continue monitoring the fibroid and not to touch it because if I decide to operate, the chances of it growing again is very high. What do you guys think ? Nida
Guest guest
? I feel that UAE is not appropriate for my > condition because I am not a heavy bleeder. UAE is not just for heavy bleeding. Many women have relief from bulk symptoms after UAE. In fact my gyn thought that UAE was most suitable for women with large fibroids - not my 3 cm submucousal that was causing heavy bleeding. There is a lot of misinformation out there about UAE, and most gyns - even those like mine who will refer for UAE - don't know much about it. Guest guest
I have two fibroids, one is 6cm and the other (discovered through MRI) is 3cm. My symptoms were bloating, back ache, leg pain (standing and sitting for long periods of time) growing abdomen (pregnant looking) and a little spotting. I too am not a bleeder. My doctor wanted to wait and see, but this can take away many options that you could have by making an early decision. I decided on UAE and just had the procedure done on Aug 14th. I'm feeling great, everyone at work noticed that my clothes have loosened up and said I look like I've lost weight. My bloat is gone and so is all the swelling. gosh, my skin isn't tight anymore. I haven't had a period yet, but I'm waiting to see. My gyne didn't approve of this procedure but I feel like myself again. After 6mo. I go back for an MRI and we will see the results on film. It's a very personnal decision but do weigh your all of your options. I didn't want to be cut on and that also causes scar tissue which is something to think about. Good Luck, Pat
