Guest guest
One thing that I did to make sure Patty got to keep her itinerant hearing services when her loss was only mild and she was considered " borderline " was to document how many days she spent unaided -- colds, allergies, ear infections, malfunctions. Then I insisted at the IEP that they write the IEP for a child with the unaided loss, not a child with the aided loss. You can try guessing for last year, but going forward the way I did it was put an X on a year-long calendar through any day where Patty didn't wear her aids to school, then took the calendar with me to the IEP. This was one of Kay's first suggestions to me, so give credit where credit is due! Our district's requirements for itinerant services are that the loss has to be " educationally significant " , but it is based on some California statute and may be different in your state. Did you sign the IEP? If you are disputing it, isn't there some status quo provision? Sorry I'm being so vague, the only IEP I ever disputed was the first one so there wasn't an existing IEP to keep in place. Sheri
