Eldrid Tellis, New Ashoka Fellow.

Mumbai based Eldrid Tellis has been appointed as the New Ashoka Fellow

for Improving healthcare and treatment facilities for street drug users.

Eldred has been working on the drug abuse problem in India for over a

decade. His experiences have helped him develop targeted and sustained

interventions for the drug user community on the streets of Mumbai.

Eldred's programs provide better healthcare and treatment facilities,

offer counseling and assistance for recovery, provide livelihood

building opportunities for the users, and, ultimately, help slow the

spread of HIV
