Lynne -

I'm not celiac, and I don't know very much about it, but I very much

sympathize with your added dietary burden.

What are the other restrictions besides gluten?

You obviously have found substitutes in your diet for the grains you cannot

have, which might actually make the LID a little easier for you.

Before my most recent scan, I didn't follow my own advice ( " prepare

ahead! " ), and found myself ready to be on a low iodine diet without having

done any cooking or baking (or even grocery shopping) in advance.

Inadvertently, I wound up being on a wheat free diet in addition to the

other foods which I couldn't eat for two weeks, and to my surprise, it

wasn't very difficult nor did I feel more deprived for having to forgo

bread and bread products.

If you don't mind educating us a bit as to the special dietary requirements

of celiac disease, I bet we can come up with some meal plans for you. And

we're certainly willing to listen to any amount whining if that will help

:-)

BTW - I assume you've discussed your condition with your endo? Apparently

the intestinal absorption of levothyroxine is often impaired in celiacs,

and higher doses may be required. I don't know if there are any other

special considerations or protocols required due to your " special "

circumstances, but I'm sure your endo will know.
