My dear Chris;

Cooking is not that difficult and if you do not understand a " cooking term " look

it up on the internet. Kraft foods, Betty Crocker and other sites have videos

to show you how to cook a particular receipe.

Make learning to cook a New Year's Promise to yourself! After you learn how to

cook, maybe you could invite others over for a pot luck where everyone brings

something. Fast food is expensive and just adds more weight, as it is nothing

but empty calories.

Also, if you want to lose weight, the smaller portions are just what you need.

Losing weight will not only help you diabetes, but also your pain. Learn to be

good to yourself first and treat yourself well!

Do utilize your helper when he is there and then spend some time learning to

cook and care for yourself, as it will not only give you a sense of

accomplishment, but it will improve your health. As you learn to cook, while

enjoying the smaller meals that will help you take off weight, you will slowly

learn a new attitude and find accomplishing things very rewarding.

Also maybe the surgery you might qualify for. If you drink an 8oz glass of

water before you eat, then eat very slowly and concentrate on what you are

eating you will find yourself getting full and your brain will learn a new set

point of fullness. Our minds take awhile to catch up to what we eat before it

releases the chemical that says your full. Treat your body as a temple! Once

you lose some weight you will be able to participate in some sort of exercise

which will also help you.

I wish you luck and next time you write tell us of your new recipe you learned

to cook and please be good to you. At 5 " 11 and 400 lbs you need to lose some of

that weight and your health will gradually improve.

Peggy
