Guest guest
Dear AIDS-India, Re: /message/8895 There is a big difference with a doctor-patient relationship in USA and India. In USA, especially with my doctor Dr Micheal Saag, it is like a bridge, where as in India, it is a top down relationship with a doctor and patient. Perhaps in India, doctors have not interacted with the level of patients who learnt quickly, their own follies, and corrected them I am talking about 1981-1995 USA). They helped themselves. Also people outside India, are not familiar with the count 'lakh', an appropriate use would be 'hundred thousand'. When they first discovered that I had AIDS in 1992 in New York city, the doctors asked me to take a TB test. I told them since I had taken BCG as a child in India, any TB skin test would turn out positive. So I had to take the four drug therapy for TB for 12 months which was extended to 18 months. They gave me the four drug therapy for drug resistant TB. There is a significant postive relationship with TB and AIDS in developing countries.
