Guest guest
Hi again. I had my L2 screw on the left removed yesterday. Wow, piece of cake! Surgery took about an hour and I was out of the hospital less than two hours after that. No trouble walking, very manageable pain, and the best thing is I can already detect a change in the function of my left leg, which was apparently being affected by the screw impinging on the spinal canal. My big trouble now is trying to hold myself back so I don't tear a stitch loose or something - it doesn't hurt enough to slow me down. I think a very big thing is your attitude and emotional state before going into surgery. After my first two or three surgeries long ago I developed the attitude that I will just show up at the hospital and say, " Here I am - let's do this " . I think it goes along with having learned to meditate. In fact, I would recommend a good course in meditation techniques for everyone. Thanks for the good thoughts and wishes! - in New Mexico
