Guest guest
Welcome, I also have fibromyalgia, degenerative joints and a few more syndromes. I am in my 40's am married and had 4 sons.I live in Maine. I use the fly lady method to keep my house company ready. I have been doing it for the past 3 years. I modified it to work better for me. Right now I am in the middle of getting rid of all the excess things I have boxed up in the cellar and all the stuff I never used out of my house. If I don't like it, use it or wear it It is going out of the house and into somebody else's through Goodwill or the A.S.P.C.A. I can't dust everything every day so out it goes. Since I started doing this, the rest of the family is doing it too. I just told them to treat the stuff like we were moving. What ever they don't like, use, or wear, make it go away. I do all of this using an egg timer. I set the timer and clean until it goes off, then I rest and do it again a little later. I am proud to say that I am up to 7 minutes. The Fly lady method uses 15 minutes. I am working up to it. Gentle hugs, Ms.Katurah
Guest guest
That's great! If you want to get rid of stuff even easier than hauling it to goodwill, check on yahoo groups for a " freecycle " in your neighborhood. You can post things one by one or a few at a time and people come and pick stuff up. I've gotten rid of some of the weirdest things this way. Its true what they say, " One man's trash is another man's treasure. " For me, it always seems less overwhelming to just get rid of things as I come by them rather than getting a box or two together for someone to take to Goodwill. >MsKaturah wrote: >Right now I am in the middle of getting rid of all the excess things I have boxed up in the cellar and all the stuff I never used out of my house. " Thanks for the reminder! I've done flylady a couple different times in the past and have loved it. However it didn't dawn on me to scale back the timer. Like everything else in the life of chronic pain..... start small and build slowly. Thanks again everyone for your suggestions!
