This is my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong:

Finely process the almonds or oatmeal, add water... mush around for a bit,

then strain... voila'...... almond milk.

I agree with you Bob. I am posting a response for the

first time. I have been reading these messages for the

last three days, and I am wondering why it seems that

people are at each others throats. I understand that

there is some question as to what exactly the

importance or unimportance of being an LP or a

Certified EMT-P. When licensure first came about my

co-workers had some mixed emotions as to whether or

not to pursue it. Then there was the question of

whether it meant more money or not. I also want to

comment on the struggle that I see here between 911

EMS vs. Transfer EMS. I have worked all of my short (4

years) career for Private companies that provided

both. I do sometimes feel confused and disheartened. I

chose this profession because I wanted to help my

fellow man. I also feel a lot of hostility from

Governmental EMS providers when we show up at a

hospital to transfer a critical patient to another

facility for higher level of care. What is wrong with

this picture??? We all have to take the same courses,

the same state tests, and wear the same certification

patches from the same state agency. I do have a

comment about Transfer medics vs. 911 medics. I have

done clinicals with 911 medics where they were sent to

do a transfer of CCU patients and they didn't have a

clue about how to handle 5 I.V. meds. on 3 different

pumps or ventilator patients. We are all supposed to

be in the same profession aren't we????

hello pat, I also had problems with my kidney, my urinalysis says albumin is

present in my urine, that means the albumin is escaping thru my kidney

because i think it has some holes, red blood cells are also present in my

urine, about 3-5/HPF, i also experience back pain especially after eating

salty foods

question

the doctor told me yesterday i have a bladder infection. i'm on

meds. today that's better, but my back is hurting something

awful. i haven't eaten anything in two days, except a few bites of

chinese and several low carb cookies (just can't seem to keep

anything down). several weeks ago when i saw the dietitian she said

she thought my back pains could be kidneys.

i know you folks are not doctors, but has anyone else had this

problem? pat

Hey, Pat, you've come a long way, baby. :-) That was a great answer to Kathy's

question.

The only thing I would add is, check with your health insurance company about

monitors. Mine sends out a free one to their diabetic clients. It's not the

best kind but it's good for backup and it didn't cost me anything. I also have

a Freestyle and it's the best, in my opinion. You can test on your fingers,

arms, back of your hands, legs, etc. Or watch the drugstore sale ads and you

will see " buy the strips get the monitor free " offers.

You don't need a prescription for a meter and strips at all..but some -

maybe all - insurances will cover the cost of at least some of the strips

and the meter if the doc writes a prescription... and since strips are

expensive and at the beginning, at least, he'll be testing a LOT (I recommend

at least eight times a day) it's worth it to get that prescription. Vicki

Lucky Blue Jay,

Stay with your aunt. If your sister gets upset, she gets upset. You are not

responsible for her well-being and you can't let something such as her getting

upset determine what you will or will not do. In doing so, you are giving her

" nada-control " i.e. you don't do something you want to do because you are afraid

it will upset someone.

Btw, you don't have to offer her an explanation of why you stayed with your

aunt, nor do you have to tell her ahead of time that you are going to stay

there.

hyper-senstive to others' feelings, as a result of how I grew up. This is my

question. My husband will be flying out of a city where my aunt (dad's sister)

and my sister both live. Since my husband flight leaves super early in the

morning, we will need to stay in that city (we live about four hours away from

this airport) before his flight. My husband wants to stay with my aunt. I

don't mind staying with her; I like her. The problem is that there is a whole

lot of family drama between my nada and my dad's side of the family My sister

has had her problems with that side of the family, too. I think that my nada

and my sister's problems are their problems--I'm not withholding relationship

from myself with my dad's family based on someone else's (mom and sister's)

problems with them. I think, though, if we stay with my aunt and my sister

finds out (which she will) she might get hurt that we didn't stay with her. My

nada will definitely blow a gasket. Oh well about that. Whatever.

would be a reasonable hurt for someone to have? Or, if sister is hurt would it

be an unreasonable hurt for her to have?

that he just has no interest in my family whatsoever. I don't blame him at all.

I support him in his needs for space from my family right now. There is no way

I am going to " Make " him stay with my sister.
