Guest guest
I just wanted to let everyone know what I did today. I made soap with almond milk! I made the almond milk from blanched almonds and water. I got the recipe from a website that I can't remember now. After making the almond milk and letting it cool awhile, I started the soap. Pouring the lye very slowly into the almond milk. It reacts much the same as any other milk. It thickened as it cooled, almost like custard. (same color too) At 110 degrees I mixed oils (same temp) and lye custard . It traced within an hour (I don't have a stick blender) Nice color. I didn't add scent or fillers or coloring. I didn't insulate (think I learned that lesson recently I wanted to share this because some of you don't like using any animal products (including milk) and I thought this might be a nice alternative for you. a Rogpashea@...
