Guest guest
that's what i'm looking for. and i've told vicki, wendy and others that i do appreciate all their input. i just can't seem to get it all together into one meal plan. maybe it's easier for some because they've done it a while. wendy has some food background (like lots). i've not taken the time to really research all of this, and it's like reading a manual, and i'm not good at manuals. but give me a class, and i'm in business. i just really am a " hands on " person. it's good to know that when we try the dietitian, and have questions, we have this list to come back to. i think that gives me a very safe feeling. that, and knowing that i will be living in wendy's school bus very soon. lol pat > Like you, if this does not work for me, I will drop it and try something > else. " Pat, my nutritionist gave me the guidelines and portions for the foods on my diet. She broke them down into units, and that made it real easy for me. For example, 15 grams of carbs equals one carb unit; 5 grams of fat equals one fat unit; and 7 grams of protein equals one protein unit. Then she took my weight, height, and measured my wrist to figure out how many of units of each group would be best for me during the day(she also took into account my lifestyle). Like you, if this does not work for me, I will drop it and try something else. But since I am so new at this and I crave order and guidelines in my life, this is what I'm starting off with. If nothing else, I'm still eating much better than I was a few weeks ago, so it has to be helping at least a little bit.

(unless you feel low blood sugar, and you test and find yourself low) If your blood sugars come down to normal range... 70 - 120 all the time, great.. then begin to add in a FEW Grams of carb add in like 5 - 10 grams of carb a day, so day 1-4 eat just protein (blood sugars within normal range) day 5-8 eat protein + 8 grams of carb each day (blood sugars stay in normal range) day 9-13 eat protein + 15 grams of carb each day (blood sugars may be a bit elevated at the 2 hr pp mark but under that goal you set) day 14 - ? eat protein + 25 grams of carb each day, (test and see what your bs's are) you can do this and find out how many grams of carb you can tolerate, keep good notes
