You might try drugstore.com. I've had success finding products

there. Also, you might ask the pharmacist to order some for you. CVS

in the US will do that. Hope one of these ideas help you.

Hi ,

I'm from beaver country too (Vancouver, BC) and got my Aquaphor at

the pharmacy dept at Save-On Foods. It's been a lifesaver for my lips

as I'm 7 days post-op. You can probably get it at Safeway or Real Cdn

Superstore.

Good Luck,

Hi ,

I'm from Montreal, Quebec. I found Aquaphor at Pharmaprix. I

believe in the rest of Canada it's called Shoppers Drug Mart. I used

it a few times, and it's been O.K...no miracle ointment I would say.

However, I am not post-op. Georgia suggested it to me, I bought it,

and so far I found it to be a regular ointment. I have severly dry

lips, as a result of my overbite and other meds I'm taking. At

current, I'm slowly going off these other meds, so we shall see if

the dryness and it's severity remains...

Good luck finding Aquaphor in Alberta.

Did I ever mention that French girls rock?

I tried Shoppers, but didn't find it. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong

section.... is it stored with the other lip balms?

Have you used anything which works better?

And good luck finding a job in Quebec! (just razzin ya..)

I have a friend who just moved to Montreal from Edmonton. He left

last Friday, and is apparently having a great time out there.

Hi ,

I've never seen it at Shoppers. I search the lip balm and floss

section pretty regularly, but they just stock certain kinds. They

also don't do special orders anymore - they are only allowed to order

from their central distribution, and then only one other wholesaler.

I found this out when I was trying to buy the Glide Floss Threaders.

I did come across them at Pharma Plus, so you might try them, if they

are in your area.

Let me know if you find it as I will probably be looking soon too.

We don't have a Pharma Plus in Alberta, but I'll let you know if I

manage to find The Tube elsewhere.

Dunno about way up there. I found it by asking the pharmacist. it's

used as the base for all dermatology compounds they blend to order.

It's made by Eucerin, and you might look on the shelf where things

like Cetaphil, Eucerin and the like are kept. I have seen it there,

in both tubes and jars. Actually, it's not unlike Vaseline (although

a bit lighter, I think) which is what the nurse in the hospital gave

me.

It's not with the lip balms, or in a tube. Aquaphor is in

the " cream " section, if there is such a place. It's an allover body

moisturizer, unless I've purchased the wrong kind. And it comes in a

tub.

Well geez... no wonder I haven't been able to find it. I thought it

was a lip balm.

Hi Cammie,

That would be too much like Asking For Directions, which just happens

to fall right under Reading Instructions on the list of things guys

never do. :)

" Moisturizers " , I understand.

I'm not sure how I feel about the country I live in being called

" beaver country " . Those with slightly degenerate minds (like mine)

might misconstrue your meaning. ;)

OMG, . Now he's trying to get something started cross-country.

Not happy just playing in his own back yard.

Sigh.

It's OK. . I'm an old, old woman. Spoken for. Not after your

hunky hide. (But I will confide to you that Alabama girls, or some

of 'em, anyhow, also rock -- as do some old, old Alabama wimmen.)

Anyhow, my motives are purely supportive for your hour of

orthognathic need. But if you'll send me that message, I'll probly be

able to help.

of the anglophone minority in Montreal.

No, I found mine in the Prescriptions section. You may want to try

asking the pharmacist; mine had to look it up in the computer when he

realized that he had it. Let me know how it goes...

Actually, the job market in Montreal has improved over the past few

years. And Mtl has a lot of class!! I'd much rather live in Mtl

than Toronto and I've never been to Edmonton.

Did work lure your friend here? He must be enjoying the summer; Mtl

has much to offer esp. during the summer season!!

Hi ,

You may want to read my post to (45723). I found Aquaphor

at " Shoppers Drug Mart " in the prescriptions section.

Good luck,

Sure, but the rumour is that your cousins get really jealous. ;-)))

Actually, I've heard that Alabama is full of beautiful women, and

friendly people in general. Alas, I've never had the fortune to visit

your fair state.

Ok. Then try moisturizers as in the kind of moisturizers

dermatologists would send you to buy, rather than moisturizers as in

the kind that cosmetologists are happy to sell to women who also want

to smell sweet, lose every wrinkle and be perfumed with their

favorite scents.

Or take my other suggestion... Whichever.

Well, come on down for a warmer winter... I'm told that the cold is

hard on healing jaws...

Actually, I have no real Alabama cousins (lots of " Cousins, " as in

nice old ladies who were sweet to me when I was younger), but I'll

instruct all my shotgun owning friends to put away their weaponry.

And the Marquis de Lafayette, who reportedly had worked his way

through the ladies on several continents, is reported to have

commented that Mobile had the fairest women in America... Of course,

that was back in 1824, and some of the strains may have become a bit

diluted since then.

We can boast a couple of Miss Americas, if your taste runs to long

legs and straight white teeth...

And yes, I think we are generally friendly folks. And you could

encounter worse motives, I believe.

Best,

Go work your hunky bod.

Yes. He accepted a job offer from a company based out of Montreal.

He hasn't been there long enough to experience much of your summer,

but he seems to be quite impressed by the nightlife. :)

Ok, the mystery has been solved. Thank's to tips from the good ladies

of this forum, I found the Aquaphor --hidden behind the pharmacy

counter-- at the same drugstore where I searched in vain just

yesterday.

Because I had some time, and didn't feel like a complete idiot yet, I

decided to drive to the other stores where I'd previously looked.

Yup, sure enough, everyone has it. But remember that you need to see

the High Voodoo Priest at the pharmacy counter to get it. I can't say

I understand why though... I mean, are they afraid we're going to OD

on moisturizer?
