Guest guest
Well said Rae. for me it was both my parents and thanks to them I am stronger than I probably ever would have been without their non-support. I too traveled, earned 3 degrees, worked at what I loved, (even when my parents swore up and down I would never pass the state boards), which I did with high numbers. I know there are some who suffer and are not able to climb out of the hole built by our parents, but some of us do and go on to great things not defined by negativity but by our great desire to prove them wrong and be our best selves! Guest guest
Yep ditto to that Peggy. We can either let them win and keep us on the bottom or we go the opposite way and come out fighting, fighting to be the best we can be with the cards we've been dealt no matter how hard. I prefer the second option :-) They say anger is a bad thing but anger was another energy source to use when normal energy simply wasn't available. I used it to drive me on and it worked. I have no use for it, now i don't have to prove myself to anyone anymore so i let it go but it served its purpose and was transformed into positive things. Big hugs to ya fellow parent survivor hehe. Love, Rach xxxx
