((((((((((Becky)))))))) Just go and relax. You can explain that you are need

to get up and take breaks every x amount of time. They will give you breaks

anyway, but if you need more don't hesitate to let them know in the beginning.

I did not have the testing, but I have done psychological testing. The testing

is not like the type in school. It is not expected that you will know all the

answers. The tests are just a reflection of how you process information,

memory, see the world, strengths and weaknesses.

You will do fine. Think it as a drawing of you. Just as a stretch shows what

you look like on the outside, the tests show your traits that are in the inside.

Hope this helps ease your mind a bit. Lots of hugs, Tami :)

My appointment is a week from Monday. My inside traits would not have been so

great if I had taken the test today. I was hurting so bad I was close to tears.

My drawing would have been a black hole. Do others have a lot of difficulty

even talking when they are in extreme pain?

I pray that my pain level will not be that high when I have this appointment.

Will keep everyone posted and many thanks for your support. Even if I don't end

up getting to the finish line on this quest, at least it's one more stamp in my

pain passport. Becky

Becky -

They're just trying to determine if there are any underlying psychological

conditions that would affect the success of the stimulator. For example, some

people have undiagnosed OCD and end up picking at the implantation until they

pull the wires out! Others have problem following directions for various

reasons, and it's critical that you be able to follow your doctor's instructions

exactly in order to heal properly.

This is just a way of making sure that the implantation will be as successful as

possible. Even if someone had an underlying condition that would be

problematic, it doesn't mean they can't get the stimulator - they would just

need to be monitored differently.

So don't worry about the process. It's not like a " test " where there are right

and wrong answers. You're not going to be accused of " cheating " if you ask for

accommodations for your health concerns.

Insist on the accommodations you need to be comfortable and they should be more

than willing to help you. Your health comes first.

Hey Cheryl in AZ,

You live in Arizona. Me too. I'm in the Phoenix area. Right now

I'm in Peoria helping my Mom. Maybe we can meet and get to know each other.

I was in a car accident 4 years ago and I'm suffering from chronic pain. I

shattered my right ankle and wrist. My wrist is fine.

Now I'm in the process of getting my ankle look at for second opinion

and see if I need to have surgery or not. This will be the second surgery on my

right ankle. If you have Yahoo you can add me as loveyouhun. Just put what group

you are from. I will add you. I hope to hear from you soon.
