Guest guest
The light emitted by digital clocks, lights on other electronics and some nightlights can interrupt normal sleep patterns. That is a fact. Jennette > Jade wrote: I have been doing some reading, and ran across a theory that exposure to 'blue light' causes a lack of natural Melatonin production. Guest guest
I sleep better when there is no electronic lights. I cover everything that cannot be turned off with a towel. For example, my CPAP has lights on the buttons, so a towel goes over them. > Jennette wrote: > The light emitted by digital clocks, lights on other electronics and some nightlights can interrupt normal sleep patterns. For example, my CPAP has lights on the buttons, so a towel goes over them. Years ago, my husband and I bought a 29 acre old farmstead, so that our kids would have the opportunity to learn more about living independently, well digging, living in the almost wild, and how to care for animals, etc. We lived out in the country in northeast Saskatchewan, Canada. There was no outside yard light. The only light coming through our windows at night was moonlight. My menstrual cycle had always been a nightmare. Irregular, heavy, and just downright nasty. Within three months of living without streetlights or yard lights, things changed. For the five years we lived there, I was like clockwork and everything about the cycles I had was normal and not uncomfortable. My migraines all but disappeared. I think I had about a dozen in those five years. We moved from there to beach front property at Little Lake Manitou. http://tinyurl.com/6arl64m There was a streetlight across the road from our house. Within two months, I was back to same old with my menstrual cycle. The migraines reappeared. I eventually had to have a partial hysterectomy, as the periods would go on for weeks at a time. I hadn't realized until after we moved back to " civilization, " just what kind of effect that constant outdoor lighting can have on a body. We still had the same bed, another unpopulated area, beautiful scenery, same high quality food, etc. The only thing that was different was the streetlight. The gynaecologist I had, was into studying the effects of " modern " lighting on women and their bodies. He wasn't the least bit surprised at what had happened. I had thought about using my slingshot to keep shooting out the streetlight :-) However, the streetlight was placed on a sharp curve in the road for a reason. I didn't want to be responsible for someone crashing a vehicle. When the quiet beach front started being turned back into a busy resort area, (for the healing waters), we moved away. Our quiet oasis now had traffic going by day and night. I still miss being able to float around the lake :-) Lyndi
