Guest guest
I'm one of the odd balls who doesn't tolerate heat well. I perspire a lot and the heat zaps all my energy. Doesn't help my pain one bit. Jennette Madrega Mom wrote: I wonder if most people have less pain in the summer than the winter. I do. Guest guest
Absolutely, always less pain in the warm summer with more sunshine and less moisture.Fortunately the last car I bought came with a sun roof and in the summer when I'm out, I always let the sun in, I think it makes a world of difference. I posted an article on Vitamin D deficiency increase pain and taking Vitamin D supplement has proven to reduce pain. Most people are deficient and sitting under the sun will not cure the deficiency. You have to take Vitamin D 3 and my Doctor prescribed it for me but you can buy it over the counter. The article I posted said those with pain or deficient should take 2000mg to help. Barometer changes also increase pain so you are are correct. Here is a link explaining it but you can type in " barometer changes and pain " and many articles pop up to read on this subject. http://tinyurl.com/3bfo274 So the old story from elderly people (me too) that rain is coming because their arthritis is acting up has some merit : ) Heat helps me feel better so going out in the sun helps my aches and pains and winter tends to cause me problems. Guest guest
I'm just the opposite, the summer kills me, but the winter is a LOT better. It's SO humid and hot here in Arkansas that I feel like I'm drowning in the heat. The winter is so much dryer and cooler that I can actually function. The only part of the winter that kills me is the actual CHANGES in the weather.other than that, I love the Spring and Winter. Guest guest
I actually have about the same amount of pain. It depends on storms and humidity. I take a prescription of vitamin d 50,000 units twice week because my body doesn't like making it and sunlight just bout kills me. I can't see and I get burned to blisters really fast Gentle hugs, Ms.Katurah >Madrega Mom wrote: I wonder if most people have less pain in the summer than the winter. I do. Doesn't help my pain one bit. Ditto for me Jennette. When I was back home in Saskatchewan last month, I was out and about in minus 35 weather and enjoyed it immensely. There was zip for humidity or wind, so with warm clothes, I was very comfortable. I walked at night, under the bowl of the stars, as much as I could. The Milky Way was shining in all its glory. I also love the way the snow squeaks under my feet when it's genuinely cold outside and the air is fairly dry. I was very disappointed that the Northern Lights didn't make a single appearance while I was there. Usually, year round, we get lots of Northern Lights. Not this trip though. Guest guest
I do too. At least until the humidity hits. Guest guest
Absolutely! The cold aggravates my fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis and causes me to have pain everywhere. When I'm cold I tend to tighten up and hunch over, which makes things even worse. If I had my way, I'd live in the south where the winters are warm. I love the summer. Not only do I feel 1000% better, but the days are longer and I don't have to wear so many clothes! I also have a severe vitamin D deficiency. Along with supplementation, I was told by my endo to make sure I get 20 minutes of sunlight directly on my skin every day. Tough in the winter, but oh, so easy in the summer. Looking forward to warmer weather (if it EVER gets here!). Very gentle hugs, Doreen --- Madrega Mom wrote: > > I wonder if most people have less pain in the summer than the winter. I do. Tree, I know the feeling. It is like when you lie on a floating device on the water and the sun warms you all over while you are being rocked by the water. This always made my muscles relax and reduce my pain. I think of this when I need to focus on reducing my pain and when they stick me with needles. It is my imagery place I go to relax. My favorite friend in the winter is my electric blanket and having that warm feeling from the cold keeps my muscle from spasm.
