Guest guest
Hi everyone :-) There are two types of bergamot... regular bergamot is a sun-sensitizer which means it causes people to burn much quicker than normal. You can get bergamden (not sure how to spell it LOL) free bergamot that has the harmful sensitizers removed. It is a bit pricier than regular bergamot too. I can't remember who sells the bergamden free kind but I have seen it somewhere I will look in my files. Regarding castor oil, I use 1 oz. per pounds of oils in every batch. It makes the lather wonderful and helps fix the scent. I have added it at trace and I have also added it with my base oils- olive, coconut, palm mostly. I have not noticed a difference between the two. It helps with the lather and the scent whether or not it gets saponified or it is used as the superfat. Atleast that is with my experience using it. Hope this info is helpful :-) Cari Sunshine Soapworks bulk soapmaking supplies and handmade soap http://sunsoap.hypermart.net
