Guest guest
To all who have sent hugs and help, thank you, that means a lot. My primary physician referred me to a colo-rectal specialist who I saw last Thursday. He said they are NOT hemorrhoids. He then took a biopsy. I thought I had a high pain threshold - I found out differently. I was in more pain for three days, but it had to be done. Unfortunately I don't get the results until this coming Wednesday. The specialist wants to completely rule out cancer which was the reason for the biopsy. He did tell me that he did not think it is cancer but was not able to even hazard a guess upon the initial exam. Of course I'm anxious and pensive to find out what it is because without insurance, if I have to go into the hospital for any kind of procedure, I'll have to work out some kind of payment terms. The specialist did give me a prescription for 5% Lidocane ointment which has been a God send. At least I've been able to function except for eating. As the old saying goes, what goes in must come out. As I told the Dr., my appetite is good but I'm afraid to eat anything. He told me to continue with the " High Protein, Low Residue Diet " and I should be Ok as it is important I keep my strength up. As soon as the specialist calls me, at least I'll know what decisions I'll have to make. I can get individual health insurance and not have to pay more than what I was paying each month for my Cobra, but the problem there is the deductible. I've yet to find any plan that has less than a $2,500 deductible for hospital admittance. All I can do until Wednesday is pray. Hi Keaven I am so glad you saw the doctor, and hope the biopsy will be negative. Please contact the hospital, if your income is low enough your bill might be free. Virtually all hospitals have programs. What a relief that you now have 5% Lidocane ointment for relief. Let us know how you are doing, you know we care about you. Guest guest
You should be able to apply for state insurance through the hospital. A alot of times they will send in an application for you if you don't have insurance. I would ask them. If they don't apply for you then go to your local DHS office.
