Guest guest
Thanks, Helena! I actually am meeting with a broker tomorrow morning to review my plan options. It will be great to get some detailed info that will help me make an informed decision (I hope). If anyone is interested I would be happy to share what I find out. Hugs, Carol > Helena wrote: > I had an AARP supplemental policy which cost me $143/mo and was worth every penny in that it covered darned near everything that Medicare itself didn't. Unfortunately I ran out of the necessary pennies: waaaaaaaah!
Guest guest
For people in their 40s who have medicare, how do we better understand our supplement info if we have primary insurance coverage through our spouse?

Lori, Call the Medicare Number listed on the website as they will give you the appropriate information. Also, the primary insurance has a representative that can answer those questions. That way, Lori, if there are any problems, you can blame them not someone who just told you. Is you Medicare from a disability ? Usually it is, and you do not get the opportunity to have Medicare A, B, and D (D being the drug supplement). Medicare is a given program but you have to sign up for the B and D programs during their sign up period. They are very picky about the spouse insurance programs and made me take the Medicare having to pay the premium and then the Tricare military I was on, became the secondary, but I had to sign up for the Medicare, I could not continue on the Tricare without having the Medicare. This came after 23 months being on the disability program with Medicare SSI payments, then the Medicare insurance program made me pay a premium of 95.00 which was deducted out of my SSI payment. It is important for you to contact Medicare, Lori, so you do not miss any enrollment periods. Good Luck, it is very confusing and I was very angered that I had to give up my spouses insurance but Medicare health insurance pays very well and my Tricare picks up the remaining amount. Let us know what you find out. There are also handbooks online for each of the Medicare programs Bennie
