Guest guest
Could you explain the neurotransmitter? Do you mean an implanted or external device? Is your doctor giving you a prescription like an antidepressant to help your serotone levels? I am curious because I suffer from the same problems in those areas. right now I take pain meds which give me enough relief to manage my pain. However is the weather is bad, i'm stressed or tired my pain level goes up significantly. Gentle hugs, Tami Michele wrote: > I have a neurotransmitter to help with low back and leg pain. My pain mamagement doctor says that he can give me another neuro transmitter for neck and lower arms, but I have read no studies on multiple neurotransmitters and pain. I am concerned about the cognitive dissonance effects.
Guest guest
Hi tami, A neurotransmitter is an implanted device which you control externally with a remote to prevent pain. My pain was so severe, 3 years ago when I had the device implanted, that I could barely move on very heavy doses of pain, sleep, and fibro medications. I am now still on all fibro and sleep meds, but my pain medication has been cut back dramatically. Unfortunately, the rest of me is still a mess and I don't want to increase my pain meds further. I am very sensitive;they make me sleep 24/7. I cannot give in to the pain. I am considering a move to a warmer climate which may help some of the pain issues but will not make me a happy camper! Gentle hugs! Michele
Guest guest
I have thought about one of those. since i have had back pain since i was 13 years old. have constant pain every day. no pain pills has helped. plus i have headaches every day. i take a sleeping pill. which helps me sleep about 5 hours a night. plus i have hydrocephalus. glenn >Hi tami, > >A neurotransmitter is an implanted device which you control externally with a remote to prevent pain. Guest guest
Michele, thank you for explaining. It is good to know that down the road there is an alternative if (when) the pain meds fail. My hubby and I have considered moving to a warmer climate also. He is developing joint pain from years on working as an auto mechanic. He is only 55 years old and feels the cold as much as I do. However the humidity of summer does me in too. I know we will probably not move soon. We lost his dad this past December. Hubby goes up every Sunday to see his mom. His older sister lives up that way, but she is still working. His other sister lives by us and his 3rd sister lives in TX. Also we have 4 grandchildren and a new grandson due in June. I hate to think I would not be able to see them as frequently as I do now. Can't win can any of us. I am sorry to hear that you are struggling with other symptoms. I will keep positive thoughts that you get some good days. Thanks again for responding. gentle hugs, Tami --- Michele wrote: > > Hi tami, > > A neurotransmitter is an implanted device which you control externally with a remote to prevent pain. Guest guest
Problem with neurotransmitter it helps only one group of nerves at a time, for instance, lower back only, neck only, depending on where implanted. If you have pain all over or wide spread you will still have pain there. Tree
