Hi all,

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a physioball? It sounds like something

fun.

We use an infra red vibrating neck massage ball on 's chest. It adjusts

up to 2 speeds and really vibrates the daylights out of her chest (whilst

we vibrate one side of her chest, we pat the other and vice versa so that

she gets twice the benefit out of the 20 - 25 min sessions)

love,

Karolina (Mum to 10 mo w/cf)

Karolina,

It is a big to very big inflated ball in bright colours. Ours is

85cm

across (some 25 inches, I guess). You sit on them as on a horse. The

'ears' of the smaller ones look like slug tentacles, close to one

another. They serve as handles, so the children don't fall off when

submitting the toy to 'abuse tests'.

Every couple of years, they regain popularity over here (Belgium).

You can bounce on the spot, or bounce around the room (if you have

one

with tentacles). I guess they're so much fun because they're a bit

risky!

They're also used in physiotherapy for children with motor

difficulties. The child lies on the ball on its belly, and the ball

is gently turned around so it gets used to using hands or feet for

stability and balance.

Their disadvantage is the size. You can't tidy them away, which could

be a problem is you live in a small appartment.
