FOR MY SWEET TOOTH.......IT DOES ATTACK SOMETIMES!..I JUST MIX A 50/50 MIX OF WHIPPED CREAM CHEESE AND SOUR CREAM... TOP WITH WHIPPED CREAM SOMETIMES (SINCE ITS VERY RICH I DON'T NEED A LARGE AMOUNT) -IF I MAKE A LARGER BATCH I''LL ADD SUGAR FREE - MAXWELL HOUSE CAFE- CAPPUCCINO - MOCHA OR VANILLA- 7C PER ENVL. Guest guest
Thanks - thats good to know...i'm lucky we have a health food store nearby... and our store (shoprite/finast) also carries and organic/health section.... but my biggest problem with them is because I'm allergic to sulfa - I sort of turn really red when I eat too many......my mom, tho, gets itchy. Guest guest
Dont have the digest. problems only the redness...I found out about the eggs, for me, because the Dr. gave me an rx which was sulfa (not too sure of spelling) based and it turned me bright red - like a lobster! So now if i eat too many eggs i turn red. My Mom tho found out when she went in for some allergy testing... she found out shes allergic to eggs, tomato, lemon , aspirin, and sulfa drugs. Guest guest
The bars are not worth the money to me either. I don't like them. I do well with the Atkins shakes though. I add 1/4 cup of cream, 3/4 cups water, a few ice cubes and 1/4 tsp. of peppermint extract. It makes a yummy mint shake. I haven't tried adding it to the chocolate yet, but plan on it. Nita, You use Optimum Nutrition also don't you? I didn't realize it had 3 and 4 carbs per scoop. Have you tried any other powders that you have liked that were lower in carbs? Guest guest
I had a problem with eggs too, after years of being able to eat them. I was trying to continue by limiting them. What I found though, was that I could eat organic eggs, just not regular supermarket eggs. I don't mean fertile ones, just basic hippie eggs. I usually buy them in a natural foods supermarket, though those aren't to be found everywhere. Some supermarkets carry them in their egg departments. I warn ye, they are much more expensive, but for me, quite worth it. They are from chickens that are free-range (that turn out to not be so good for eating, but great for laying) and that are fed a good grain diet without all the drugs supermarket chickens get. I am guessing that what I am allergic to is some agent used in the production of the eggs, either something the chickens are fed, or more likely, some antibacterial thing used around them. Give it a try. Re: atkins bars > From: LLALA166@... > > M.S. NEW TO ATKINS MYSELF, AND YES I TRIED THE BARS AND HAD THE SAME > OP. AS U....ANOTHER FRIEND TRIED THEM AND SHE LIKED THEM.
