Guest guest
This is new to me. When I first had chronic pain I was treated for high BP. After a while, my BP returned to normal but my pain did not. The doc was puzzled by the BP lowering and balancing. My experience was that BP raised as I was assaulted but learned to deal with the pain. However, since the pain is CHRONIC, it became the norm for me. My question is whether or not the BP rise is chronic like chronic pain? --- Marta wrote: > > The " history of chronic pain and blood pressure " ? I'm not familiar with that. I do know that one of the ways my doctor can tell how bad my pain has gotten is that my blood pressure becomes elevated. My BP usually runs pretty low, so if it's even NORMAL for most people, my doc knows that I'm in some serious pain. > I know that not everyone has the BP spike with pain, but it's a pretty universal tell tale sign for doctors. If you have high BP already, then it might not be as effective a tell, I suppose.but I'd love to hear about the " history " that everyone is supposed to know
Guest guest
My blood pressure goes way up with my pain and my heart rate used to, but I am on a med for the heart rate. I also have palpitations and a leaky valve. I have changed my entire diet to lower my BP. Savella drove my BP over 200/180 so I had to quit it. I had rapid heart rate and slightly elevated BP before using it for two weeks and now it gets up high whenever I am under stress. Guest guest
My BP rises when my pain goes up over what is " normal " for me...since my pain is chronic, I'm always in pain. It seems that my BP spikes when my pain does. I've spoken to a lot of doctors and researchers and most have said that spikes in BP are related to spikes in pain level.
