Guest guest
For those of you whose kids have sinus problems - how was that first discovered? I am suspicious that Scout's pseudo. is in her sinuses and not the lungs. She doesn't have horrible sinuses, but lately she has sounded stuffed up a lot. No one at our CF Center ever talks about sinuses as being an issue. I am thinking that if the pseudo. is still there in her next culture maybe I should push for further investigation there - or is Cipro about the only thing they can do for pseudo there too? Jen had mentioned tobra nose drops, has anyone else had experience with those? Lori mom to Scout 21 mo wCF
Guest guest
Lori - Our clinic has told us that has most of her troubles with her sinuses, however we really haven't needed to aggressively treat the sinuses yet. We are using a nasal steroid (Beclovent) 2 puffs 4X per day. This seems to be helping quite a bit. When she isn't taking an antibiotic she seems to return to her " baseline " cough. It can be extremely irritating. I am still questioning the use of / or no use of TOBI for us. My understanding is they will not prescribe TOBI until her symptoms increase, eventhough she continues to culture Pseudo. We go back at the end of the month and I will continue to ask for treatment of pseudo. See my next message and please respond. Thanks... Kathy G.
