Guest guest
Hello all.I typically don't post but " neck pain " is something that I certainly know something about. I had a C6-C7 injury in 2001 that went untreated until 2008 and then July of 2009 I had another (first was a lumbar) Synthes Pro-Disc artificial disc replacement after it was determined that the disc in my neck had virtually disintegrated. Almost immediately my migraines went away, my left arm and hand pain went away. I do still have some issues but simply located at the site and around my implant. The things that actually relieved some of the pain before my surgery were a really good comfortable pillow. I also invested in a Bed Buddy shoulder/neck wrap that I could warm up. I also had a TENS type unit that I would use not on my neck but around and with the shoulders to relieve the spasms. Hope you feel better, I for one completely understand what it feels like. I think I would much rather have my low back pain back rather than neck pain because that interferes with everything, both physically and emotionally. I have both and my neck pain is far more tormenting than my lower back pain. The lower back pain I can deal with, with heating pads, medication, correct shoes, surgery, rest, etc. But the neck pain is so unrelenting and contributes to such wicked head, upper back, and arm pain, that some days, it just about drives me to distraction. Even with sleep medication, I don't sleep more than a half hour at a time. That's wreaking havoc with my body. I don't shoulder check when I drive, I body check. :-) Lyndi
