Guest guest
Good Morning, I hope all of us here are feeling at least acceptable today. I had to go get an x-ray of my brain for the neuro-surgeon that has agreed to see me, in an attempt to repair or remove my occipital neuro-stimulator. This is almost on an emergency basis, because of how quickly the stem is now eroding through the skin. I have to admit that I am quite depressed at the possibility that it may be totally removed. I asked at my pain doctor, if I could have another implanted after I have healed, if this one is taken out. I was told that we will see how all of this progresses. The most important thing is to take care of it before it does erode and compromise the entire system. I know I am going to have to increase my pain meds and I am not thrilled about that. I feel that I am very lucky to have a drivers license. I take so many medications that are not related to pain, then to top them off with pain meds...well, I have to be wise and not drive at times. I also am having a problem with depth perception. It causes me to run into door or wall edges, and that creates more bruising. I have a real problem with bruising. I am 55 and have the skin of an 86-90 year old. My skin bruises and tears very easily. I have even bought protective sleeves that I wear when my arms are really bad. I'm sorry to ramble on. I was really only writing about the stimulator and the progress I'm making in getting it taken care of.
