Hello again , I've found that the mindfulness meditation ( or Follow the Breath meditation). All one must do is find a quiet place in your house or outside and sit comfortably, try to make your mind as blank as you can then just follow the breath. Be aware that you are inhaling through your nose, be aware that you are exhaling through your mouth just concentrate on your breathing, don't let any outside or inside sounds that may distract you.Just be aware of the breath. I also found that when I ask to be painfree, I can feel the pain ebbing away. I found that while I'm doing this meditation my painful areas seem to feel a lot less pain. I can keep doing this for hours. My cervical spine,my Thoracic spine and my lumbar spines are feeling much less pain. I have multiple disc herniations, multiple in the Cervical and the thoracic spines as well as the lumbar spine. I now have spinal stenosis in all area's and I have a few osteophytes(bone spurs) in my neck that are touching the spinal cord itself. My Neurosurgeon doesn't think I will need an operation to my neck for years yet. My original neurosurgeon wanted to operate right away. I went for a second opinion, he was the first neurosurgeon to say to me that I didn't need an operation for years is now my new neurosurgeon. Guest guest
, Thanks for the information. I just bought " Wild Chickens and Petty Tyrants: 108 Metaphors for Mindfulness " based on the reviews on the beliefnet.com site. I do the Follow the Breath meditation, I just did not know it had a name or was part of mindful meditation. LOL I also do one where you focus on feeling the blood or energy circulate in your toes and slowly work your way up the body. Both meditations help with the pain and for getting to sleep. > wrote: > I've found that the mindfulness meditation (or Follow the Breath meditation).
