SCS Trial--Update on Marta

Well, I had the SCS Trial started on Friday..it's been pretty painful, I

have to say. I am due to have this out next Friday. I'm not sure if this

list accepts pictures, but I'm going to try and attach a picture of my

back.I look a bit like enstein's monster, LOL. The first night was

pure hell..the IV they started to give me the Fent came out of my vein, so I

didn't get much of the pain meds and I still had to sit there while they put

the leads into my back. My back was so sore the first night, I thought I

was going to die. But with the help of Oxy and Soma, I got through it.

Yesterday was better, today is better still.

They put the leads in to treat not only the RSD in the right leg, but the

herniation in the left L4/L5 and I have to say, I think it's working even

though one of the leads has pulled out a bit more than my daughter thinks is

normal. The rep from the company that was there helping to set the leads

has been WONDERFUL; any concern, I have his cell number and he's told me to

call him ANYTIME. I do think that it is working, though until today, it

was almost impossible to tell due to the pain in my back. The pain today is

better, though we'll have to see as the week progresses.

That's just the update...I have to say, it's a unique experience.
