Hello all! My name is and I am new to the group. I guess I should give you

the rundown about me. I am 46 years old and developed RSD following a broken

left elbow. When I broke my elbow it sheared the nerves and muscles and I had to

undergo surgery to repair the radial head and reattach the muscles. My left arm

doesn't extend or bend completely, my shoulder is frozen and I cannot turn my

palm up. After that surgery I started to have pain, stiffness, discoloration, and

swelling in my left hand and was diagnosed with RSD by my ortho and he sent me

to a pain doctor.

The pain doctor suggested gangllion blocks. I went thru 2 series and they helped

a little. I was getting the non-steroid blocks due to the fact I am diabetic.

She also gave me Vicodin for pain. I didn't see her for a couple of months, but

went back last week because the pain has spread to my entire arm, my neck and

right shoulder.

At my last appointment she suggested starting the blocks again. I also told her

that the Vicodin don't even touch the pain, but she won't prescribe anything

else. Just more or less brushed me off and pacified me with more blocks.

I would like to find a pain doctor that is more aware of RSD in my area

(Pittsburgh, PA)

To add to all this I also have coronary artery disease and had a heart attack 2

years ago. I have worked all my life until now. I get frustrated from not being

able to do the simplest things and Got denied disability. I have good days and

bad days, but I don't know when they will be so working is a challenge.

Well, I guess that's enough about me for now. I think this group is very

beneficial and I have learned much already! Hoping all have a tolerable day!

Chris
