" That just might give the wrong impression to a family member or friends. I think it would be very easy for anyone to then get the idea that " your pain is not that bad. " As for the Social Security thing heck, tell them you are simply not up to it and that they are going to have to do most of the work. They should understand. I think you will be satisfied with their work. ~Bill (former Air Force)
Guest guest
Hi Kristy, I'm truly sorry that you are feeling all these pains. You are describing the areas where I hurt, am weak and have such profound stiffness that I'm not even sure I can get off the couch and stand after sitting there. Do you have trouble having to get on the floor to reach things under a table or in a cabinet then struggle to get back up on your feet? This is beginning to affect my daily life. I keep wondering how I'm going to adapt to this. Is this the way it's going to be now? I even wonder if my doctor has diagnosed me properly. What is your diagnosis? According to my doctor, for many years I've had osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia and degenerative disk disease. It's either getting much much worse or something else is going on, that's how I feel. It's my kids and hubby that help me to get through each day but I kni=o wiyt hard for them' Kazy, Kristy Kritters In my situation, the numbness comes when I have inflammation in the areas I have problems. Stiffness I treat with topical ointments, I have had a prescription creme that is done at a pharmacy that mixes it but have found a pain creme that helps and then I put heat on top of it. It is Tiger Balm, Neck and Shoulder rub but I use it on my legs, arms, back, shoulders, and neck. You might call your Doctor and ask him/her or the nurse to give you something to help you. Your husband and kids probably enjoy helping you and remember (I am assuming here ) they are physically able to do so. Assisting others teaches compassion so please do not be so hard on yourself. As far as the Social Security Interview, I went down and had the interview so the assistant could see me but let the phone interviewer know how you are feeling and to excuse you and this allows them to know the difficulty you have doing simple things.
