My daughter is fed per GT and I just open up capsules and dump in feeding bag

and shake bag well and continue to shake it a little during infusion. The

COQ 10 does clump together alittle otherwise. Good luck

I should probably wait . . . there are already responses in my box to your

post, but . . .

CoQ10 dissolves in fats rather than water. It simply floats on water. It

will cling to the sides of the extension tube if you try to simply flush it

through. The best method we have found is to heat a little baby food or

applesauce. Drop a gel cap in and let it dissolve in the hot baby food, or

empty a capsule and swirl the babyfood until the powder has sort of binded to

the food. THEN add whatever liquid is necessary to make it the right

consistency to go through the tube.

Occasionally, I still have some that clings to the tubing, but most of the

dose goes in.

CoQ10 also comes in a liquid form. Vitamin World sells it, and they have a

web site. I would give you the link, but I lost all my links!!! :(

However, you can find the site simply by plugging " Vitamin World " into a

search engine.

Good luck!

No, problem here!!! I don't use regular applesauce . . . I use the baby food

version. It is smoother. Maybe that is the difference. Haven't had a clog

yet! Bananas are even better . . . the CoQ10 seems to bind with them easily.

Rarely ever leaves any on the tubing.

Thanks for the hint about mixing with hot water!!!

Hi Pattie,

I wouldn't advise putting the CoQ in a feeding bag. All it will do is

stick to the sides. You're better off heating about an ounce of water in

the micro for about 20 seconds then putting the powder in there. Stir and

put in the tube. Follow that with some water or formula to be sure it all

gets in. That's how I do all the kids' meds and it works fine. No clogs

yet! :)) If you're not particular about the brand you get (we use Vitaline

at the docs request) why not get liquid CoQ?

Sue,

Thank you so much! We have waited so long to be able to start on CoQ10, and

then to get it not to know how to use it! I have heard of the liquid form,

but (I can't remember where I heard this), that the liquid form was not as

beneficial. My husband thinks our doctor told us this, but I think I will

check with him again tomorrow.

Thanks again

Patti

Hi Kathy,

While I agree mixing it with some applesauce is ok, I found that worked

worse for us. Talk about clogging the tube! :)) I couldn't put enough

Pediasure in it to make thin enough! :)) If you mix the CoQ with warm water

and put it in the tube while warm and follow with formula, that works better

for us. I'm not disagreeing, only presenting another option. :))

The capsule co q, that is powder is better mixed into some type of oil

if your child can tolerate it. That keeps it from foaming and clogging

as much. Good luck,

I'll add our experience to the co-Q10 discussion!

We bolus feed Laney four ounces of Neocate One+ at each

feeding. When it is time for Co-Q10 I empty the capsule

into the formula, shake really well and pour it down the

tube. I then add an ounce of water to the bottle and shake

again and pour that down her tube. Then I follow with the

rest of her plain water. I've had no trouble with it

clinging to the bottle or the extension tube--and no clogs

either! I have had trouble with Vit. E, but have found a

liquid that works really well!

Speaking of tube feedings, has anyone else gotten the new

Mic-key extension tubes? I just started using our first one

and I hate it. It unclips and opens really easily, and my

favored lure lock feeding syringes don't stay in real well.

Just venting :)
