Anyone have this same problem? > Christa, Time for new Doctor, Get that stuff out and changed as I am sure it is causing an anti inflammatory process. Did you have a MRI or CT with thin cuts to see ? The aspirin causes bleeding and bruising so you do not need to take that unless a heart Doctor has you on that. You need to keep a pain dairy with the pain levels as it might be causing nerve impingement and other problems. I would get a second opinion. This article was great and just type in right ankle surgery with plates in screws : How to Recover From a Broken Ankle That Has Plates and Screws | eHow.com Pressure against the plate and screw could cause your leg bone (tibia, fibula) which is connected to you ankle to become out of line and arthritis could develop. I had a bi lateral bunionectomy and they broke my toes on both feet and I had pins in for six weeks and they had grown to the bone so I am glad I had them out. I am glad I had both done as if would not done another one after the first and I crawled up the stars quite a bit. If you are having surgery, you should be off blood thinners (Aspirin) for six weeks before the surgery and my Sisters Doctor told her to limit sugar intake and take Vitamin C and she did not have has much swelling as I did with my surgery. Time to go to a specialist or different doctor, this situation is painful and can cause deviation of your leg bone from what I read and should be taken seriously. I am not a Doctor but your body is telling you " Something is wrong " I had a mis aligned Sacral Iliac Joint for seven months after my Spinal Fusion six months before and an auto wreck seven months before the physical therapist diagnosed it and took several sessions to put it back in place and I have to wear a sacral iliac belt to keep it in place and I can get it out of align, stepping off a curb, so take care and let us know what you find out. Guest guest
wow!! an aspirin? Please find a new doctor! You sound like you are in a lot of pain! You must remember that being in constant pain is devestating to your body. It will have your pulse rate and blood pressure at a constant high, and that will eventually destroy your body. That doctor should be charged with malpractice!! S having pain Christa wrote: I'm in constant pain even if I don't a whole lot. The Dr refuses to give me pain medicine and said " to take aspirin. Guest guest
Hi, I can relate to your challenges. I have been in pain for almost 20 years. I broke a screw in my lumbar spine after my first spine surgery. I have two messages for you - 1) Get a new doctor. Some of these people just don't understand what our lives are like and you need somebody who does. (Pain medication is not the answer, but they part of the equation for a satisfying life with chronic pain.) 2) You will not be a couch potato all your life. There is a good life out there for you to live. It takes time to adjust to chronic pain (and a lot of work). Do not give up, you will thrive again even if you must live with chronic pain. Like I said, I've got almost 20 years under my belt and I consider myself to be happy -I have a good life. Just not the one I planned... Best of luck, Bill > > Hi All, > I was in a car accident 4 years ago ... > I can't tolerate the pain anymore and wish it was fixed.
