Guest guest
Dear Forum, Greetings from Partners in Development Initiatives! A significant quantum of research is being conducted in the field of HIV/AIDS/STI in India. Sexual Health Information Centre has been trying to compile the abstracts of these studies in one database so that the findings can be put to use by researchers and decision makers. This compilation of abstracts contains both the published and unpublished work sourced from various sources like Medline, Popline, Indexmedicus, abstract books and cross references from various journals. In addition we have directly written to several medical colleges, government, non government organisations, social work institutions involved in research in HIV/AIDS/STIs etc. and have incorporated all that we could access. A total of 7040 published and 400 unpublished abstracts have been collected and catalogued under four areas:-: 1. Communication: Behavioural and Social Sciences research, 2. Biomedical Research 3. Programme research, 4. Partnerships. The studies can be searched either by the above mentioned track / title / year / author / source or by key words. This is an ongoing process and this database can be accessed at: http://www.shic.org.in/ResearchStudies.aspx. Please send us any references of abstracts so that we can add them to our database and full text of studies that you would like others to have access.. About Sexual Health Information Centre (SHIC) SHIC has been planned to serve as a one point source of reliable and relevant information related to HIV/AIDS available in India.
