,

I am sure you had a culture and sensitivity testing to see which antibiotics do

and do not work and MSSA is in a category in itself.

My question is that , What if you become intolerance to the antibiotic and it

becomes ineffective ?

The spacers are made from different material than the hardware, so would this

make a difference or is it the same as I have BAK cages.

I have known of students I treated with Cerebral Palsy that got Staph that

stayed on long term IV antibiotics but I also would have the same questions you

do.

Remember the side effects of Cipro, the ruptured tendons and interacts with some

meds to include thyroid meds. I was put on Cipro and I was taking thyroid meds

so I called my Doctor after reading the inserts.

All I can say is do research on your own, and get a second opinion, insurance

usually pays for them. I am sure the ID doctors know what they are doing but I

would want to know the same things you do.

Good Luck and please let us know how you are doing.

Bennie
