, there doesn't seem to be an experienced person online today, so I'll

give it another shot.

Can you come up with more information about the scan? I don't think it's

routine for a patient to get a Pap smear AND radiology. My first thought

was some sort of visual scan of the epidermis (for lesions that could be

malignant).

The Magic Mouthwash is Mylanta, Benadryl, and lidocaine or Xylocaine or

something similar. One recipe is equal parts viscous lidocaine, Maalox,

and Benadryl. If you can get it to sound like lidocaine or Xylocaine,

we're home free. Otherwise, look for another brand name for lidocaine.

And there I believe there were some differences in the sphygmomanometer

spellings suggested. Per Stedman's:

Sphygmo = pulse,

and

manometer = An instrument for indicating the pressure of any fluid or the

difference in pressure between two fluids, whether gas or liquid.

Origin

[G. manos, thin, scanty, + metron, measure]

You are right, I don't know why i didn't pick that up, they are Roman

Numerals. I just go into autopilot when transcribing those and have a macro

for my psych diagnoses so i don't even think about it. My reference is the

DSM-IV reference in " Psychological Testing and Assessment " , as well as HPI's

Psychiatric words and phrases.

Yep i know i am not capitalizing those titles correctly,,,,, :-)

Patient states that for the past three months, he has been having some ____

" globus " symptoms.

Every time he takes a pill, he fells like something is stuck. A capsule he

does fine with.

He drinks fluids and food fine. No " edinophasia " .

He ran out of Nexium, so his symptoms of acid reflux came back.

Globus is correct - probably globus hystericus, which means the patient

feels like he has a round ball - like a globe - in his esophagus.

For the second one you want odynophagia - check the definition and you'll

see why that makes sense.

I have no idea on your other one.
