Guest guest
In cases where you are trying to get multiconditions treated, I would recommend that you ask one doctor to be central monitor and place where your treatment information goes. If your PCP is comfortable, they could oversee the treatment of the different specialists you see. As a patient you need to advocate for yourself to get appropriate treatment. However, medication and doses is really determined by your doctor. They understand the interaction of each condition and medication with your other illnesses and treatment plans. There may be a reason you will not be able to take a certain medication because it would worsen another condition or interfer with another medication you are taking. Word of warning; I have found that if you go in saying " this is what I have. I reseached it " You are going to run into a brick wall. let the doctor know that you are wondering if your symptoms may be related to this condition. If you have heard or read about a certain medication and it sounds like it might help, certainly ask the doctor about it. but again, it may not be appropriate for you or the doctor's experience with the medication has not been positive. There is some overlay in your conditions. They do not function in your body in isolation. Some of your treatment will probably help other symptoms. Keep us posted about how you are making out.
