I burnt my skin a bit once, which certainly did not help the pain. on-text portions of this message have been removed]
Guest guest
Another use for the rice bag is to get your feet warm when you go to bed. I had been having problems getting my feet warm when I first to to bed. It seemed like no matter how many pair of socks I put on or how many layers of blankets, it took forever for them to get warm enough for me to go to sleep, even on the nights that my RLS wasn't as bad. I had some rice bags that I had bought for my mom. They are easy to make if you sew. These are about 8 ins by 8 ins. I warm one in the microwave for about 4 or 5 minutes. I stick it in the bed under the covers and stick my feet to it or under it. They get toasty warm in no time! Guest guest
I'm new to the group, but know this subject well. I made rice bags for all of my relatives as a Christmas gift several years ago. At the time I was receiving commodities because I was only receiving SSD and that was my only income. So I got two 2 lb bags of rice every month. I saved the rice and bought a little more. It turns out that 2 lbs of rice fits perfectly in an pillow made of two squares of felt that can be bought at a craft store or even Walmart. Using 2 lb of rice, you would heat it for 2 minutes in the microwave. I use mine on my neck or lower back and yes, I have used them to warm my cold tootsies. Sometimes I can be sweating every where, but my feet are freezing, so I understand that one. Bren " Body on market for trade, new improved body please " P.S. I will post an introduction sometime today.
