Guest guest
Welcome Marilyn - That's quite a web site you've got there. You've come a long way since your surgery. With your gallbladder and ulcer problems holding you back right now, not sure what advice to give you. You'll probably have to have surgery to take out your gallbladder. Ulcers can usually be fixed with medication. Hope these things get taken care of for you, so you can get back to feeling better. Glad to have you with us. Guest guest
Coupla questions. How does water taste? Did your heartburn start rather suddenly one day? Have you been scoped for staple line disruption? Thanks, Vitalady T www.vitalady.com If you are interested in PayPal, please click here: https://secure.paypal.com/affil/pal=vitalady%40bigfoot.com HELLO Hi, My name is Marilyn, I just joined, thought I'd say hi. I had the gastric by-pass done on november 26, 2001. I weighed 458 pounds at the time. Today I weigh 328 pounds. I'm thrilled with my progress so far. Two problems I have, the doctors think my gallbladder is acting up, and they also think I have an ulcer, as I can't seem to keep anything on my stomach lately unless its really bland. I tell you, it gets boring sometimes but its either that or I have heartburn and naeusae all the time. Which is worse? I can't tell you yet! Anyway, I just wanted to say hi. If you want to learn more about me and my surgery and for pics, I started a website, its: http://www.geocities.com/marilynsweightlossjournal/HOME.html And again, I'm glad I found the group. Guest guest
Marilyn, Does he think the acid in your stomach might be related to you gallbladder? I have a sick gallbladder right now and my reflux seems to be coming back. I m not sure if the two are related, but they seem to have started around the same time. I can't have a SLD because I'm transected. Good luck with the doc I hope they figure it out soon for you! in WA -- Re: HELLO HI, well water is about the only thing I can drink that doesn't give me heartburn, though sometimes it does. I think it did start suddenly one day, its hard to remember. I have had problems with acid reflux alot, but NOT like this. I have been scoped, my staple line is fine. I have to have an endoscopy done on August 19, and I have to have a sonogram of my gall bladder on August 8. Hopefully everything there will turn out fine. The hardest part like I said is the constent naeusea and heartburn. I hate it. I eat tums and rolaids daily, take nexium and prilosec, but it just helps alittle bit. My dad said drink milk, but someone else said milk is bad for ulcers. So any ideas? Let me know. Thanks. Marilyn Vitalady wrote:Coupla questions. How does water taste? Guest guest
You said water works fine? The other thing I've seen that can make that acid come back probably has a fancy name, but I don't know it. If the junction of your " Y " is made too close up to the pouch, the gastric cocktail that flows from your stomach to the junction can go back UPHILL instead of the downhill, as it was planned. It isn't like it happens every day or anything. I know it sounds odd, but I think you'd prefer the ulcer. Guest guest
Call the insurance and see if it has been submitted. You'd hate to get up to the last minute and be faced with self-pay (although I'm self-pay). Pam in Niceville Hello Good evening everyone, This is my first time sending a post. I am Marie, 50yrs. old, wife, mother, grandma and proud of all of them:) Is there anyone being seen at UCSF in San Francisco, CA ? I have a surgery date of Aug. 19th however I have yet to get any information from the Dr.'s office about my insurance (Atena PPO). I know it takes about a month to find out either way but I am getting a little nervous since it is only 14 days away. I have called the office but have yet to get a reply from them. Any insight? Thank you for listening:) Marie -- San Leandro, CA ---------------------------------

At about what Heart rate? Are your episodes very symptomatic? When you say that your hypertension is uncontrolled, you are saying that with all those drugs your BP is still high? What is your approximate usual BP and your average heart rate? Why do they say you are not a candidate for ablation? Covera is Verapamil HCL - a calcium channel blocker Maxide is a diuretic also called Triamterene or Hydrochlorothiazide Toporol is Metoprolol - A Beta Blocker Diovan is Amiodorone HCL - The most harsh antiarrhythmic made Betapace is Sotolol which is an antiarrhythmic with a beta blocker SO: You are on one Calcium Channel Blocker, two beta blockers and two antiarrhythmics. Without reading your answer to any of my questions, my humble opinion is that you are on way too many drugs, especially since none of them are working for you. Even though I have already given my opinion, it would help all of us for you to answer above questions. Two more questions: How long have you been on Amiodorone (Cardura)? When was your last Afib episode? Welcome to the group Pam Walter > >
