Nat- I too feel the same way about the caffine. I've been on the diet for

about 12 days and have still had my caffine every day and lost 8 pounds. As

far as the pregnancy thing I don't know but I would definatly check with your

doctor.

Introduction

Hi all,

I am new to this list, I always thought there should be a list for parents.

And what do you know I finally found one. I have two children both girls,

Aimee is 10 years old and has CF, she was diagnosed at 5-1/2 months along

with bronchiomalacia, she is doing well for lungs and digestion, but has had

about 8 sinus surgeries since she was 6. I'm just glad I worked as a nurse

for an ENT for 6 years. Plus an attitude of a teenager, and very close to

earning her Black Belt in Isshinryu Karate. Then there is Alysun 8 years

old

no CF, and feels like she gets no attention, which may be true at times, but

the rest of the time she gets equal attention. Alysun loves Karate too and

is

a brown belt, she just started a year later. We Homeschool, which both are

doing well.

That's who we are, I am glad to be on the list.

Kris,

I am the father of a 4 year old with cf. He had the Nissan as well, when

they did the Nissan they put in a " Button, " " feeding tube " or " G Tube " or

what ever you want to call it. A tube into his tummy to feed him with - Is

that what a NG is? I'm not familiar with that term. Our boy started eating

pretty good soon after though and we quit using the G tube and eventually had

it removed.

Have you found the Cystic L list yet? You can find it at www.cystic-L.org

If I can be of help just let me know.

<< Just a quick note of introduction. We have two wonderful girls, both with

CF, Morgen 3 and Emme 7 mos. We have had quite a bout with Emme this last

few months due to severe reflux, finally had a Nissan done which cleared up

her lung problems, but now she won't eat. NG feedings are helping keep her

nutrition up, but any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Our oldest is

doing quite well. I am so grateful for a list like this and hope that I get

to know everyone.

HI, and welcome to the list. I guess the only suggestion I might have is to

get a speech language pathologist involved (SLP). Sometimes kids develop

oral aversions when alot has been done to them, and an SLP can help by

showing you ways to decrease the oral aversion. Have they ruled out anything

medically related to the Nissan that might have caused the refusal to eat?

Take care,

Jen
