Guest guest
Besides the list of foods that can cause headaches on the web site, there is also a list of the other things that MSG can be called. Watch out for any prepared foods, such as microwave dinners and soup. They usually contain MSG, but often under another name. laurie Reply-To: Date: Tue, 13 Aug 2002 16:59:34 -0400 To: < > Subject: Chemicals in our food Hey everyone, I have trouble with foods that contain MSG, and I recall that it has been mentioned on the mito site as a problem maker. Does anyone know if there are any other chemicals that can cause headaches and such. I recently had a meal made with a popular brand of ham that contained the following ingredients: Cured with water, salt, dextrose, sodium phosphate, carrageenan, modified food starch, sodium erythorbate, hickory smoke flavoring and sodium nitrate. Do any of these ring a bell. After I ate this meal, I had a headache all day until I took Advil for it. It also made me feel lousey (sp?) like MSG. I have to watch sandwich meats, hot dogs and such, because they can do the same. Thanks
Guest guest
, I too am a food content watcher. For the past several years I was on an organic vegitarian diet; however, I do not have access to mostly organic foods where I live now. I found that a lot of chemicals such as MSG would make my headaches worse. There are a couple of good books on the subject two of which I really enjoyed; however, I strongly advocate that you not take the suggestion of a lot of homeopaths and stop prescriptive drugs, these books state that the suggestions are not to take the place of meds...I thought that the were well rounded in their suggestions and very informative, I read the books to find out which foods are recommended as foods that will aid in slowing down or stopping symptomatic stuff, and foods high in certain vitamines. The books are: Food and Healing by Annemarie Colbin Prescription for Nutritional Healing, 3rd edition, by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC and F. Balch, MD Happy Eating! L. Di Pietro (21yr old MC, suspected MELAS) > Hey everyone, > I have trouble with foods that contain MSG, and I recall that it has been mentioned on the mito site as a problem maker.
