I have a appt scheduled with the surgeon. Everything is done (nutririonist, psuchologist, physical) and I hope once I see him he sets up the surgury date. Not really sure. But my appt is not till june 22nd But oh well. Just thought I would try posting again and see if I get any replies -- ----------------------------------------------------------- cheryl@... -----------------------------------------------------------

Guest guest
Alice: Excellent news on your one month check up and great weight loss too. Are you now able to eat " normal " foods? If not, how much longer do you have to do the yucky liquid stuff? I tell ya, sometimes I am so desperate just to chew something that I actually look forward to my Flinstones vitamin. Oh well, this too shall pass. I saw Dr. Thayer today for staple removal. Since surgery weight, I have lost 25#', but I know at least 10#'s was just fluid retained while in the hospital. Still, I will take a 15# weight loss in 9 days any time. When do see Dr. Thayer again? Keep me posted. Lois B.
Guest guest
Hi Lois, Glad to hear that you're doing well. My next appointment is in 2 months. I am testing normal foods, and have been for about a week now. the nutritionist was very skeptical of this unfortunately, and I felt guilty of course. I'm supposed to be trying one new food a day, but honestly, sonce the surgery, I'm hardly able to eat the same thing twice, so I end up eating a few new foods some days, then other days none. Tonight I tried Chinese food. I had one piece of chicken, a nibble of peking ravioli, and the inside of a crab rangoon. Not very healthy, I know, but not THAT bad either. I'll probly try some steamed veggies in a couple of hours. Anyway, I'm being very careful about chewing, and paying attention to how my body reacts, so I think as long as I'm carefull, I'll continue at my own pace. How are you doing? - Alice A. Guest guest
CONGRATULATIONS ALICE A-YOU ARE DOING GREAT! Just think, 6 more lbs and you'll be under 200, never to see the 2's again. Hooray! What a great milestone. How is your scar healing? Are you feeling back to normal yet? Well, just wanted to say you are making terrific progress-yes indeed, pumpkin seed! (that always gets a laugh from the two year old I work with in early intervention). Continue to take good care of yourself! ), Steph in Rockport
Guest guest
First off Alice A yes that is wonderful for your 1 month check up! Good for you and keep it up! You are doing awesome!!! And Lois, I am still on liquid too. I was given the ok for puree last Thurs but I really want to make sure my tummy heals well before I start to "eat" anything to try and avoid throwing up! But I too look forward to the chewable Flintstones as well as the tums! Imagine looking forward to tums!!?? lol I am going to be starting the puree stage probably Monday. It will be tough because I don't like any seafood, or eggs. I really only like chicken! I will probably be on that until my next visit to the nutritionist June 29th!!! I will be happy when these stages are over! Take care! And excellent weight loss for you!!! Congrats! Petzx7@... wrote: Alice:Excellent news on your one month check up and great weight loss too. Guest guest
Thanks, Steph! The scar is healing nicely, thank goodness! I’m feeling well, if not a bit tired suddenly, but I’m hoping the B12 will help. I can’t believe I’ll be under 200 soon! How did that happen?! It was so quick I hardly have time to appreciate it.. but I do! I’m going to a wedding this weekend, and wearing a slinky black dress that used to be snug. I’ll be sure to take pics! - Alice A. Guest guest
Wow, Alice, 31 pounds!! Congratulations! I am sorry I missed you yesterday...you were gone by the time I got there. Traffic was so horrendous that I didn't arrive in Newton till 10:30. I had a 10:45 appt at the plastic surgeon to get stitches removed, so I ended up going to her FIRST and Dr. Thayer afterwards. It was 11:30 or noon by the time I got to Doc Thayer.\ Maybe next time.........hugs. kim in plymouth lknglas11@... wrote: Hi all, I had my one month visit with Dr. Thayer, and am down 31#. Everything seems to be going well. I haven't been sick yet (knock on wood), and am trying lots of different foods. The nutritionist wasn't too pleased that I'd moved ahead on my own. She and Dr. Thayer said that since I'm able to tolerate most things, I really have to be careful about making healthy choices, and not eating too much fat. This is going to be the hardest part for me, but I'm trying. I also need to try to be less distracted when I eat. It's harder to listen to my stomach when I'm out to dinner or eating with friends. I'm starting on B12 and adult multi-vitamins, and the nutritionist told me to take a Tums every day. Jeez, I feel like I'm taking a million pills! Anyway, that's the scoop for now. Hope all is well with you, and I'm thinking of all you pre-ops! - Alice A. RNY 4/25/00 236/205/
Guest guest
Hey Cheryl This note DID come through. Who is your doc? Doesn't it feel good to have the other appointments all out of the way? Why are you going back on June 22? Did the surgeon indicate WHEN you might be able to have the surgery? If you are anxious to go ahead, I would call the office and ask the receptionist if she has any idea when you would be booked for surgery. Sometimes the surgeons think you aren't quite ready....and they do not want to push you into making such a major decision. That could be the case here, that they want you to be sure that this is the only option for you. In any case, keep us posted, ok? hugs...........kim in plymouth cheryl@... wrote: Well I am posting once again but I dunno if my messages are getting out. Guest guest
Hey, Kim: If you got to Dr. Thayer's ofice around noon, I must have been there. Had an appointment for 12:15 but arrived early, about 11:45 am. Of course, the waiting room was packed when I got there. Lois B.

I was wearing a light green dress, and was probably smiling a lot cuz it was my 1 year anniversary and I'm so happy to weigh 159 instead of 293!
