Hi All

Someone who has Kaylene's email address is their address book, has a

virus on his/her machine. It sent in an auto message using Kaylene's

name. The subject line is empty (unknown).

This has happened with a number of email addresses lately.

Unfortunately, Kaylene's made it through to the group, because she is a

moderator. If any of you opened the link, you're going to need to run

your virus cleaner.

Actually everyone needs to run their virus cleaners, since we have no

idea where these messages are actually originating. Please make sure

you update your cleaners before you do a full scan.

If you are one of those people who doesn't have a virus cleaner and is

running a Windows machine, please download Microsoft Security

Essentials, update it, and then do a full scan of your machine. Follow

the directions for removing whatever it finds. It's a free program for

all Windows users.

A good program to run after running Security Essentials is Malwarebytes.

Scroll down the page to the Free Version. It's all you'll need.

Everyone should be running their anti virus program at least once a

week. Don't trust that it is automatically running and updating. Open

it and manually update and do a full scan. The virus programs often

don't keep up with everything. Also, if you turn off your computer and

it's off when the machine is set to automatically scan, it isn't going

to scan. :-)

Lyndi,

Thanks for the warning. I just deleted the message from Kaylene with no subject

and will run my virus protection program again.

Lyndi,

I have Clamvax for MAC which I updated my virus list and checked scan and I am

seeing an empty subject field from oldsoul@... I am not about to open !

I belong to a Canine Cushings Yahoo Group that they were saying that Yahoo was

slow and they were not getting messages four days ago, I do not want to forward

any of those and am not going to open any of those.

I did go to Craigslist this week and decided against posting ANYthing on there

as there are all kinds of warnings of scammers etc.

I have looked through my scan log and not seen anything logged but as people

know it can be passed on and I could not have it.

I am going to delete Kaylenes name (I know this does not make sense but I am and

see if my scan log does anything)

I try not to open anything I do not know but last year, our dog group was

talking about dog antlers as a chewie and then I got

an e mail that stated dog antlers and opened and it seemed someone got a virus

with my name and I had nothing and some

lady was blaming me and I am feeling chewed out and got our friend that does

virus cleaning to come out and assured me I had

nothing and my virus/malware showed nothing.

I go to Snopes.com all the time. Lyndi, I wonder if that friends chain I sent

to you and Kaylene started it, I am paranoid now.

Husband checked and said no and stop stressing about it. Bennie
