Guest guest
Just finished my week long stimulator trial and just was not happy with results. The doctor is still hopeful that it may work for me and wants to wait a month and try again placing the lead In different place in my head. I probably will agree to it as I'm like that horse being shown the carrot and will almost try anything that promises pain relief. I don't know how much of a kick- back doctors get from the companies like Medtronics when a patient agrees to the final implant. I like my doctor a lot and hope he is really looking out for my best interest. But I also know that money plays a big part in medical decisions. I have a few weeks to decide as they have to make sure I heal up OK and don't come down with any infections before they can try again. I understand there is a high risk of infection from these things although I don[t understand why. Best of luck to those who are still waiting on their trials. I agree that anyone who wants to try one should be allowed. I mean if you're willing to undergo the discomfort on top of your existing pain for a week, it seems like your doctor would want to encourage you to try.
