Guest guest
Dear all, Re: /message/7854 I agree doing CS in HIV should not be news but somebody from the capital city considering it is a rarity is a news and shows the state of the affairs in the country. Dr Bharathy says: even Govt. Medical college people have done quite a few CS on HIV positive women and that too for last many years. I am worried about this “even” because in our part of the country very rarely private hospitals entertain PLHAS and the however rich and influential they reach these “even” government medical colleges. Simultaneously the government medical college are blamed again and again for stigma and discrimination while there are no complaints against those who don’t even allow PLHAS to enter their compound! Incidentally our surgeons conducted a palliative gastro jejenostomy and choledococystostomy for young PLHA who is suffering from incurable cancer to relieve the block of stomach and bile duct. This is aimed at giving him better life and pain relief. We are planning palliative chemo therapy and support from palliative care clinic for this patient. The subscribers from developed world please excuse us for this discussion!! Dr Ajithkumar.K Trichur e-mail: <ajisudha@...>
